One of the hippest urban centers in the northeastern part of the country, Newcastle upon Tyne once had a reputation for being an industrial wasteland with little to offer casual tourists.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like The Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Long Sands Beach. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Kielder Observatory and Falconry Days. Explore Newcastle upon Tyne's surroundings by going to Bamburgh (Grace Darling Museum & St Aiden Beach). It doesn't end there: take in the views from The Tyne Bridge.

Use the Route module to find suitable travel options from your home destination to Newcastle upon Tyne. In June, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 10°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 29th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
