Hexham is a market town and civil parish in Northumberland, England, located south of the River Tyne, and was the administrative centre for the Tynedale district from 1974 to 2009. Kick off your visit on the 20th (Thu): take an in-depth tour of Vindolanda, then steep yourself in history at Housesteads Fort and Museum - Hadrian's Wall, then go for a walk through Hadrian's Wall, and finally look for all kinds of wild species at Falconry Days.

Bamburgh is a large village and civil parish on the coast of Northumberland, England. Take a break from Bamburgh with a short trip to Cragside House and Gardens in Rothbury, about 46 minutes away.
